Welcome to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church
Who We Are
Gloria Dei Lutheran Church was created in 1959 after the merging Messiah Lutheran Church (founded in 1885) and Our Savior's Lutheran Church (founded in 1889.)
In 1964, Olivet Lutheran Church merged with Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
Gloria Dei is a member of the ELCA Southwestern Washington Synod.
We are a church that walks by faith, trusting God's promise in the gospel and knowing that we exist by and for the proclamation of this gospel word. We proclaim Jesus Christ crucified and raised from the dead for the life of the world.
We are equipped to live and serve in the world with all its complexities, tensions and ambiguities.
Food & Clothing Bank
- Gloria Dei hosts a small food and clothing bank, led by Stewardship and Evangelism committee leader Judy Mandt.
Visiting:
- Open Hours: 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays.
- Visitors are served on a "First Come First Served" Basis.
- All are welcome and bags are provided (unless we run out.)
- Please come to the side double door entrance with the Food Bank sign outside and ring the doorbell for assistance.
Donations:
- Food donations are welcome.
- Clean clothing essentials donations are welcome.
- Example: Jeans, Shoes, Jackets
Bible Study
Come join the weekly bible study at Gloria Dei, led by Rev. John Schier-Hanson.
Meeting Time: Thursdays at 2:30 p.m-4:00 p.m., but can sometimes last until 4:30 p.m.
